Get to Know... Aron Fischer of Facture Goods

10 . 23 . 2018

New One of a Kind Show artist Aron Fischer works with hardwoods, clay and metals to create small batch kitchen-wares, utensils and provisions.

One of a Kind:  Tell us about your work.

Aron:  I love to combine different materials in interesting and unexpected ways.  I have a "primitive modern" aesthetic and by creating pieces that are somewhat rough and crude, I am able to get my voice and touch into the  work easily.

One of a Kind:  What are you bringing to the show?

Aron:  I am bringing so many pieces with me!  Everything from coffee spoons and mugs, to new mirrors adn holiday wreaths made of clay and brass.

One of a Kind:  How did you decide to become an artist?

Aron:  I grew up in a family full or creative people, engineers and chefs--so I think it's safe to say it's in my blood.

One of a Kind:  Who or what inspires you?

Aron:  I'm inspired by anyone who pushes boundaries with their work and materials.  I love the work of Carl Aubock, antique German misenware, Joshua Vogel and Masuko Unayama.

One of a Kind:  Sounds like you are going to be bringing some wonderful holiday gift options to the show.  What's on your holiday wish list?

Aron:  I always want new toys for my studio, so a hydroflux welder this year.
