Sarah is a self taught watercolorist. Her work has been shown in exhibitions, juried art shows, and galleries. She has had the privilege to teach watercolor and her creative process to Jefferson County elementary children and University of Alabama students as a guest lecturer. Not deterred by convention, Sarah has researched and employed a system by which watercolor can be painted and fully sealed on large canvases. Her canvas paintings have the transparency of watercolor, the texture commonly found in acrylic paintings, and the beautiful sheen of varnish. It is art not quite like any other. Whether it is botanicals, impressionistic landscapes, or pure abstraction; Sarah is inspired by moments of peaceful embodiment where she meets the canvas with the authenticity the moment requests. She hopes her art creates a place in time to breathe more deeply, hope more fully, and remember the wonder of being alive here, now.
